چکیده

Purpose: To explore the antidiabetic potential of Moringa oleifera leaf extract in type 2 diabetic rats, and underlying mechanisms. Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ) at a dose 40 mg/kg was given to high fat diet (HFD)- fed rats induce diabetes. M. doses 100, 200 400 were 3 groups rats. The area under curve (AUC) glucose homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-R) calculated using appropriate formulas, whereas levels glucose, insulin, peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-? (PPAR?, dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1? TNF?) assayed ELISA kits. Results: significantly reduced glucose, treated (p < 0.05). DC group had increased AUC for extract-treated showed significant decrease AUC. There sensitivity parameters, as indicated by increase HOMA-R PPAR? However, treatment with reversed this trend via marked level rise level. In contrast, no effect on DPP-IV concentration 0.05).Conclusion: These results indicate that mitigates hyperglycemia DM modulating hyperinsulinemia, cytokines. Thus, is source drug management DM.

GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF COBB BROILERS GIVEN VARYING CONCENTRATIONS OF MALUNGGAY (Moringa oleifera Lam.) AQUEOUS LEAF EXTRACT

A study was conducted to determine the growth performance of Cobb broilers supplemented with varying concentrations of Moringa oleifera Aqueous Leaf Extract (MoALE) via the drinking water. A total of four hundred day-old chicks were randomly distributed into four treatment groups, replicated four times with twenty-five broilers per replicate. The growth performance of broilers was evaluated bas...

Hypocholesterolemic effects of crude extract of leaf of Moringa oleifera Lam in high-fat diet fed wistar rats.

The leaves of Moringa oleifera Lam (Moringaceae) are used by the Indians in their herbal medicine as a hypocholesterolemic agent in obese patients. The scientific basis for their use in hypercholesterolemia was therefore examined. It was found that administration of the crude leaf extract of Moringa oleifera along with high-fat diet decreased the high-fat diet-induced increases in serum, liver,...

Amelioration of ionizing radiation induced lipid peroxidation in mouse liver by Moringa oleifera Lam. leaf extract.

Protective effect of Moringa oleifera leaf extract (MoLE) against radiation-induced lipid peroxidation has been investigated. Swiss albino mice, selected from an inbred colony, were administered with MoLE (300 mg/kg body wt) for 15 days before exposing to a single dose of 5 Gy 60Co-gamma radiation. After treatments, animals were necropsied at different post irradiation intervals (days 1, 7 and ...
